Ten years ago, Paragon embarked on a wild ride that, only through the foresight of our early team and a delightful seasoning of luck, would be the recipe for success in the MGA pressure cooker. Coinciding with a vast transformation in the insurance business, the overlooked corner of the stove that MGA’s occupied braised in this change and emerged as the envy of the industry.

Amid the industry overhaul, how exactly did Paragon manage to capitalize? People.
The blood, sweat and dedication of a growing team of insurance powerhouses allowed Paragon to grow, diversify and evolve into what it is today. Needless to say, it wasn’t easy. There were plenty of challenges along the way, like wildfires tearing through wine country and taking aim at WineRe, COVID complicating the acquisition process of Trident Public Risk Solutions and the show business strike slamming into Reel Media, to name just a few.
Paragon didn’t just survive, we thrived. Now we bring a broad spectrum of niche and speciality solutions in the U.S. and beyond. We’ve grown from just a few people doing napkin math in a Connecticut coffee shop to underwriting in fully integrated systems in offices across the country. From niche programs to specialty brands and E&S solutions, our more than 300 employees are still the special sauce that makes us what we are. So special that we have accounts that have been renewing with us for all 10 years.
