We have made the decision to partner with Ascot Group (Ascot) to provide our portfolio of Casualty products beginning in 2024. With more than 20 years of consistency and stability, providing a diverse portfolio of (re)insurance business, Ascot is a leading global insurance group. Ascot’s strong financial performance has earned an A.M. Best rating of A (Excellent).

    • We are moving our Casualty program from Argo to Ascot. This includes General Liability, Employee Benefits Liability, Employment Practices Liability, Public Officials’ Liability, Educators’ Legal Liability, Law Enforcement Liability, Auto Liability and Physical Damage Coverage, Cyber Liability, and Excess Liability.

    • We take a long view to ensure our program’s ability to provide stability and certainty for our agents, brokers, and policyholders. When we see an opportunity to enhance our program, we will make changes that are aligned with the best interests of our agents and policyholders.

  • When will this happen?
    • We expect to begin transitioning business to Ascot in Q2 of 2024.
    • We will communicate with you directly in advance of the expiration of any of your account(s).
  • How does this impact my coverage?
    • We will continue to provide all the same coverage lines that you currently have.
    • The coverage forms have been completely updated to current industry standards while maintaining the broad coverage with specialization to meet the needs of public entity risk managers.
    • Our coverage intent is largely unchanged.
    • We have taken the opportunity to improve clarity and include some additional enhancements as part of our new filings.
  • Will the underwriting change at all?
    • Great news! You will continue to engage with your existing underwriter(s).
  • How does this impact my claim handling?
    • Great news! There will be no change to claim handling. You will continue to report claims in the same way you do today, and you will continue to engage with our dedicated team of public entity claim adjusters.
  • What do I need to do?
    • Even more great news! We will take care of everything. Trident will automatically set up your existing accounts with our new carrier partner, Ascot. Your underwriter will communicate directly with you well in advance of the expiration dates of your current account(s).
  • What if something goes wrong or I need help?
    • Reach out by email or by phone to your underwriter or territory manager for assistance.
